I normally do not participate in too many blog hop type posts but this one struck me as different. What a great way to reflect on your blog and evaluate where you are going and why.
My first post is dated as March 30, 2010. It really doesn’t seem like its been almost two years since I started to blog!
2. What was your original purpose for starting a blog?
My original purpose for starting this blog was to celebrate and show the world what a beautiful, versatile and wonderful breed we are fortunate to call our own. On the not so obvious side of things I also started this blog to help me get some practical experience before applying to a highly recognized and very competitive public relations program. It worked. 🙂
3. Is your current purpose the same?
Although this blog has definitely evolved over time our focus still remains the same. At its very core Embee Cavaliers is a place to celebrate our beautiful breed. It is a celebration for those working hard to ensure this breeds healthy future. It is a place for education, insight, and feedback. I love what we have evolved into.
4. Do you blog on a schedule or as the spirit moves you?
Blogging on a schedule would never work for me. I blog when I feel like it and when I have time for it. Sometimes that ends up being a few posts during a week. More often than not though my blog posts are a pure reflection of how busy my life is at the time.
5. Are you generating income from your blog?
Generating income from my blog is not my purpose at this time.
6. What do you like most about blogging in general and your blog in particular (bragging is good!)?
I have loved meeting and speaking with Cavalier owners all over the world. Cavalier owners for the most part are very much like our breed. Friendly, caring, and compassionate. I have also loved creating a space that is educational to cavalier owners and future cavalier owners. It is truly my way of giving back to a breed that I care so deeply about.
7. What do you like least?
The internal timer in my head that says I’m overdue for another blog post! (like today)
8. How do you see your blog changing/growing in 2012?
I would like to continue on the path we are on. I want to generate content that serves a purpose. I am not a believer of creating content just to have content. I’d also like to hold some more giveaways, revamp some of my pages and links, and make a commitment to bring my camera to more places and not be afraid to share more of the pictures that I take on this blog.
Pictures like these;
A Wug baby learning about the show ring – Scarlett or Sprite?
Turretbank Merlot vs. barking stuffed toy at handling class … 🙂
Brinklow Cavaliers – Mother and Son
And a Cavalaine baby checking out handling class for the first time
What would you like to see from us? Is there content that you enjoy more than others?
Great post, it was nice to see the pictures and get to no you a bit better.
All Cavies are yours too 🙂 🙂 🙂 xxxxxxxxxxx
Did you know… 🙂 At one time, there were only EIGHT CAVALIER LEFT ……….. not sure where I heard this but I read it somewhere 🙂
all CAVIES ARE CONNECTED 🙂
So all cavies are mine 🙂 :-):-)
lots of love xxxxxxxxxxx
Beautiful post AS ALWAYS 🙂 X X X
Very nice post I really admire your commitment to the breed
Nicely done. I always love reading your blog posts and your pictures are stunning. Thanks for doing all you do to promote responsible breeding and educating people about Cavaliers.
I'm so glad you decided to participate in the challenge – the photos you've taken are gorgeous. We only know one Cavalier personally – Chloe over at DogJaunt.com – and we love her. If we'd known we were going to end up selling our house and traveling full-time in a small RV a Cavalier would have been the perfect choice for us. As it is, we have a Shar-pei whose afraid of strangers and a German Shepherd that sheds incessantly. Oh well … we love them like crazy and they keep things interesting around here. Happy 2012!
Very nice to meet you through the hop!
I love the content always here. But lately, hmm these photographs are amazing – the colour is wow!
You definitely win the prize for best photo additions to their challenge post.
Hope you have a great time in 2012 with your lovely cavs.
So this is a random comment, but you know how we were chatting about early socialization? That barking dog toy would be a great one for that. We have stuffed dogs in the store and you'd be surprised how many of the dogs come in are freaked out by them. We also use stuffed dogs for rehab of fearful and reactive dogs so I was just thinking it would be a good thing for puppies to get used to early. Just an idea, maybe a really random one.LOL BTW, these pics are gorgeous! Hope Mylee's feeling better today!
We came across your blog through the pet blogger challenge. Those are some great pictures! We love Cavaliers! One of our best friends was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Unfortunately, he passed away early last year.
Best of luck to you in 2012!
