Embee Blogs (rarely)
10 weeks old and full of puppy mischief
It seems like my blog posts keep getting further and further apart… I do hope to change that in the near future. Life has just been, well a bit busy!
Two of our puppies have left home to begin journey’s of their own. Our little Diamond is now known as Meeshayla or “Meeshi” for short, and “Hansel” was named by his owners a couple of weeks ago.
In typical Cavalier fashion of loving the person they are with entirely, they are both settling into their homes like they’ve always been there. Thank you to their incredible new owners. I know you’ll keep in touch often, and let me be a part of their lives. You are what makes sharing this breed with others so worthwhile.
This coming weekend, Boomer and Cowboy (now known as Charlie) will also start off on adventures of their own. What the heck am I going to do with no little puppies in the house?! It seems like its been mayhem here for months.. I guess technically it has been!
We had incredible warm weather on Sunday and it was the perfect opportunity to get out and play with my camera. Unfortunately my batteries died.. but I did manage to get some pictures I’m happy with.
“Garnet” who is in process of getting a name change. I’m just not sure to what yet… Luna? Lexi? Ember? Ebony? Lily? (I know if she’s named Lily who she will be going to live with)
We shared this photo of our spunky girl on our Facebook page the other day. She’s sticking around for further evaluation as a potential breeding/show prospect.
We’re going to have our hands full with this one, she loves life and then some!
Does that face say mischief or what?
Charlie has been learning how to play fetch. Zo has mentored this boy well.
Zo and him definitely share an uncanny resemblance.. He’s so cute.
Charlie and Boomer share a stick.. these two are trouble!
Boomer is the only one I didn’t manage to get any decent pictures of. He was far too busy for a photo shoot! Boomer is heading to the States to do some agility. He’ll maybe dabble in some conformation and other dog sports. His owners really wanted a dog with lots of drive and go….and well he definitely has that. I think he got a double dose from both parents. This little guy is going to keep her very busy!
Loki the hairy ewok is getting so big and HAIRY. Did I mention he’s SUPER HAIRY?! I’ve never seen a Cavalier puppy with as much fur as he has.
He’s fully into his teen ganglies and weighed 9.5lbs at the Vet last week. He’s cute but funny looking right now. Good thing I absolutely adore him, and Zo and Mylee seem to think he’s a pretty cool dude too.
Along with Charlie, Zo has been busy teaching this hairy guy all about frisbee. Bad news for Zo.. he’s getting very good at it!
Happy Wednesday!
8 weeks old
Nika’s puppies turned 8 weeks old on Sunday.. crazy how quickly the time goes by. I took these pictures several days ago, and unfortunately I have no updated pictures to share. It has rained every day since.
Tonight, our handling class is cancelled, the wind and rain is howling, and it is just plain nasty outside. We’re all curled up inside waiting for the storm to pass. I’ve appointed Zoey as my chief bed warmer tonight if the power goes out.
We wish all of our readers impacted by Hurricane Sandy a very safe and uneventful next few hours. It’s definitely a frightening night for a lot of people.
Now for some cute and DRY puppy photos.
A picture of Boomer that we shared on our Facebook page the other day. He is such a fun puppy!
We know where his love of balls comes from…
Our very handsome “Fatboy” is now known as Hansel. Or should I say Hansssome! He’s amazing gardening help. This little guy is so disgustingly sweet and cuddly. I think he’s going to make his new Mom and Dad incredibly happy…even if he is the furthest possible thing from “blenheim girl” you can get 😉 I love it when perspective puppy owners are open to finding a puppy who best suits their family!
Little Diamond – Still a force to be reckoned with. I love this girl’s attitude and spunk!
Diamond and Hans looking super cute
Poor Cowboy is the only one I didn’t get a decent picture of.. he’ll be up first when the rain stops.
A poor attempt at a group shot
The hairy Ewok somehow got his picture taken too 🙂
Next up for me tonight.. extra blankets and a warm bubble bath.
A special visitor
On the weekend we were very fortunate to have a visit with one of Molly’s boys. His owners live several hours north of us (a 7 hour drive or so) and meeting up with them will likely always be a very rare occurrence.
Charlie very much enjoyed seeing his brother Loki, 5 little cousins, Mylee, and his favourite girl in the entire world.. bossy Zoey.
Charlie and Zoey. Bad picture of Zoey, but it certainly describes how she was feeling about the situation! Charlie doesn’t care..he still loves her!
You may remember Charlie as “Chunk”. He was *so* much bigger than his siblings, and a bit of a bully.
Charlie is still the tiniest bit bigger than his other brothers, but unless you picked them up, or saw them standing right next to each other.. the difference was so minimal. The nickname Chunk is no longer appropriate, Charlie has transformed into a muscular and very athletic little guy.
Leaves everywhere! Black and tan’s just happen to look gorgeous in fall leaves.
Mr. personality definitely enjoyed posing outside
Loki really enjoyed playing with his brother.. mostly. They spent hours wrestling on the deck and running around in the yard. It proved impossible to get a picture of them together.
One thing that didn’t change though.. Charlie is still a bit of a bully, and Loki still got picked on. It also proved impossible trying to get a photo of them together. This was the closest I got
And this..one in focus, one not. Yes… Loki looks like an Ewok right now. My good friend says his name should have been Wicket… I tend to agree with her.
His owners commented that Charlie doesn’t look very much like Molly… and it’s true, he doesn’t. He’s a clone of his Aunt Becky, Molly’s litter sister.
Don’t believe me?
Becky at the same age as Charlie
Can you see the resemblance? My bets are on Charlie looking like the male version of his Aunt Becky when he is older.
